The Nelson market on Saturdays is a great place to try local cheeses, bread, seasonal fruit, vegetables and many other delicacies. On Wednesdays there is a farmers market at Fashion Island in the city.
Because all our units have self catering facilities why not bring your purchases back to your motel unit to relax and enjoy the fresh tastes.
Have fun grabbing a bargain and in season, buying a variety of fresh fruit from the large number of roadside stalls.
There are also a number of wineries and craft breweries to visit as well as Neudorf cheese and the Smokehouse in Mapua.

If you’re a person that enjoys a well-crafted beer, then try some of Nelson’s huge range of boutique brews. As the only place in New Zeland growing hops, Nelson has recently experienced an explosion of classy small breweries, brewing interesting and unusual styles in small batches. You’ll find traditional beer styles in Nelson that you won’t find elsewhere.
If you’re interested in tasting local beers then why not wander down to the Sprig & Fern bar on Beach Road (just a 5 min walk from the motel). They have a huge range of their own beers on tap.
